I am very sorry for your loss. Bertha always treated me like a member of the family, when I was actually a shirt tail relation. She helped feed my idea that everyone had dozens of aunts and uncles as well as 10 or 12 Grandmothers. Fond memories.

My fondest memories of Auntie Bertha all include laughter! My most favorite was in her beach house at the dinner table Papa (her brother Pat) asked her to pass a roll. She stood up, grabbed a roll and through it to him at the other end of the table. Nana (Pat's wife and well known table manner minder) just stuttered then informed us only they could get away with that. Auntie Berth countered with, it is my house, my rules....we did get away with a few things but never pushed to far, you still had to ride home with Nana! Auntie Bertha will be missed.
