The Wahl family:
I just learned of Chris's accident. I want to tell you how sorry I am, and that I grieve with you. I hadn't seen Chris in years but I always have known he is my good friend, and that it was his personality that the next time we saw each other we would continue on as nothing had changed between us in spite of the time that had passed. His way of always being your friend and accepting you as you were is part of the reason we all love him. And when you saw Chris coming you knew you were about to have some fun.
Les, you probably remember that Chris, Rick Beeman and I were: Doof, Doofer and Doof-doof in High School. We called ourselves the three doofs. The world will not be the same with only two doofs. That sounds silly, but I could not be more serious.
I was unable to attend the class reunions, and dont know much at all about the things that have happened in Chris' life in the last few years. If you ever feel the urge just to talk about him, I would be eager to listen, there are so many things I'd like to have talked with him about.
My email address is on this letter should you wish to talk, and my cell phone is 907 394-3860.
I grieve with you,
Dave Duncan##imported-begin##Dave Duncan##imported-end##

Our family wishes to express our deep sorrow over the loss of their beloved Chris Wahl. If the family needs help please let Chris's brother Les know and he can get ahold of us so we can offer helping hearts and hands.
We moved here from from Ca. and soon Chris became our best friend. Our son loved his friend very much. We had so much fun each time we saw Chris. He always showed us pictures of his family and took photos of us so the family could share in the special moments here.
We all know what the kids were doing and Tamera as he talked and talked some more about what was happening at home. Each time we saw Chris he said how proud he was of the kids. What a great father. He just lived for his family. And I do mean PROUD he was!
Chris liked to cook outdoors at our son's home for all of us. He would stand out in the cold evening air and enjoy himself. He would fire up an outdoor 50 gallon barrel homemade stove and we would stand around it to chat and he cooked the meat. Someone would get salad and anything else that sounded good and we had old fashioned get togethers. Tom and I are both of an age that Chris was like an extra son for us. Chris has given us fond memories to carry in our hearts and minds. We loved him with his big smiles and happy stories about family.
Chris told me, Mary Anne, that it was his way to laugh and enjoy life through all his tough times. There was no point in crying since he could just as well laugh and laugh at himself he did. I was feeling low since we learned he was gone and then today I remembered he said to laugh and so that is what I will do whenever life is rough.
We loved you Chris and still do and will always love you. See you there Chris. When Gregg plays his guitar and sings for you tomorrow on the Mt. top we will know you hear our goodbye calls and love Chris. So long good buddie we love you.
Mary Anne, Tom and Gregg.##imported-begin##Mary Anne, Tom & Gregg Marco##imported-end##
We are so sorry for your loss. Chris was a good friend and neighbor, as we had bought his folks home on the hill back in 76. We got to watch him and the other kids grow up, and their experiences in 4-h were very enlightening as was our camping trips with the family. He will be missed deaply by all who had the priviledge to know him. God be with you in these trying times.##imported-begin##Stan/Margie Evans##imported-end##

To Wahl Family;
My deep condolences on Chris' untimely death. I got to have a good visit with him at the class reunion in August. I had many good times at the Wahl ranch in High School, and remember each with a smile and a fond memory. You guys were all a large part of my teen year memories. I will never forget Chris. I know that your Mom and Dad would be so proud of what he accomplished. Shirley, you once stopped by the side of the road and made me look at some cloud formations. You said that it looked like God. I think of that every time I see a pretty formation. Now I will think of you, and of Chris looking down.
I love you guys!##imported-begin##Cristine Leonard Erbst##imported-end##
Dear Tami, Brandi, Zach, Jordan, Julie, Shirley, Les, and family I am so sadden with the untimely departure of Chris. The loss stimulates memories of the good times we shared together along the path of life. Gets us in touch with our own vulnerability. And makes us realize how unpredictable life can be, and therefore must treasure every moment. Please accept my deepest sympathies and I wish I could be there with you today.
