Abraham Joseph Camberg

Abraham Joseph Camberg of St. Helens died March 16, 2013, of bone cancer. He was 40. Abe passed away peacefully at home with his beloved wife and childhood friend by his side.
Mr. Camberg was born May 10, 1972, to Nels and Vicky Camberg in Portland.
Raised in Scappoose, he graduated from Scappoose High School in 1990. An accomplished track star in high school and college, he was inducted into the Scappoose High School Hall of Fame in 2008.
In July of 1990 he married Patricia Douglas at the Portland Botanical Rose Garden. They had three children, Alicia, Brittany and Dakotah.
Employed as a Longshoreman, Local 8, he was also a coach for a variety of his kid’s sports teams and attended Branches Church in Scappoose.
A devoted family man, he would say his family was his best accomplishment.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Patricia Camberg; daughters, Alicia Camberg and Brittany Camberg; son, Dakotah Camberg; parents, Nels and Vicky Camberg of Scappoose; brother, Ben Camberg and family of Scappoose; and many extended family members.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday March 23, at 3 p.m., at Scappoose Middle School, 52265 S. Columbia River Hwy., Scappoose.
