Adam was 22 years old, born to Gayle and Mark Zessin on July 31, 1985 and baptized Adam Eugene Zessin on September 8, 1985 in St. Helens, Oregon.
A St. Helens native, Adam attended SonShine Christian Preschool, McBride Elementary, St. Helens Middle and High Schools and Columbia County Education Campus.
Growing up Adam was in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts achieving the rank of Life Scout. He was elected to The Order of the Arrow. He enjoyed camping with the scouts as well as "model rocket camp" at Camp Lutherwood near Eugene, Oregon. He could play the saxophone, ocarina, and the piano.
On February 14, 2005 Adam married Ashley N. Harvey at Grace Lutheran Church in Scappoose, Oregon. After the marriage ended Adam moved to western New York state for two years. He was currently living in Corvallis, Oregon. He held many odd jobs and was paying his way through college, working toward a degree in education. he attended Portland Community College and Genesee Community College in Batavia, New York. A talented artist, Adam enjoyed sketching and was hoping to supplement his income by being a tattoo artist. He also enjoyed movies, motorcycles, muscle cars, and being with friends.
Adam was preceded in death by his grandfather; Gordon Gunderson and grandmother; Patricia Zessin.
He is survived by his parents and step-parents: Gayle and Don Gould and Ellen and Mark Zessin both of Scappooose, Oregon. Adam is also survived by his brother; Aaron Zessin who is attending Wyotech in Laramie, Wyoming, stepbrothers; Steve Durst of Corvallis, Oregon and Ted Durst of Scappoose, Oregon, his grandmother; Nelda Gunderson of Chehalis, Washington, and his grandfather; Larry Eugene Zessin of Tumwater, Washington, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins mostly living in Washington.
