Adele Bode's Obituary
Adele Bode, 80, of Seaside, died Monday, June 20, 2011, in Portland.
She was born Oct. 26, 1930, in Neudorf Galicien, Poland, to Jacob and Marie Schramm. She was one of five children.
On Oct. 8, 1952, she married Otto Bode in Germany. He preceded her in death in 1979. In 1954, the couple came to the U.S., landing in New York and then taking a bus to Oregon, where her sister lived. They lived in Oregon City from 1954 until 1972, when they moved to Seaside.
Mrs. Bode owned and operated Adele?s Adult Foster Care in Seaside for more than 25 years.
She is survived by six children, Dieter Bode of Scappoose, Ron Bode of Warren, Helen Weinberger and Dean Bode of Warrenton, Ellen McKay of Portland and Ralph Bode of Seaside; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Elizabeth Schebke and Ingrid Werner of Germany and Therese Hartfeil of Oregon City.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Philip Schramm, in 1943.
