Agnes D. Wasteney's Obituary
Agnes Donna Wasteney passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones on Tuesday, June 8th at the age of 73.
Born to Jacob and Philomena Wolf on April 23, 1937 in Sioux County, North Dakota, she was one of eleven children. In 1945 their family farm was hit by a tornado, so they moved to Silverton, Oregon.
Agnes graduated from Silverton High School in 1955 and then moved to Portland, Oregon. There she met and later married Donald Wasteney and they were blessed with five beautiful children.
As a homemaker, Agnes devoted her life to her husband, children, grandchildren and many friends. She loved gardening, planting flowers, cooking, traveling and spending time at the beach with her family.
Our beautiful Agnes will be remembered for the love she always gave. Her kind eyes, gentle wisdom and loving heart will forever shine brightly. She was the light of many lives.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Donald; five children: Randy Wasteney, Donnie Wasteney, Brenda Abbott, Jill Sacket and Jane Wasteney; 10 brothers and sisters: John Wolf, Gabe Wolf, Leon Wolf, Clara Lenzer, Mary Oziah, Cecilia Larsen, Ruth Carreon, Virginia Sessums, Bernadette Mager and Irene Steinke; 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
We will miss her dearly, but we can all rejoice knowing that she's in the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 14, 2010, at Scappoose Foursquare Church followed by a private family committal and vault interment at Skyline Memorial Gardens, Portland, Oregon.
Contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
