Alice Lanora Coady passed away on Friday July 25, 2008 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Portland, Oregon after a lengthy illness. She was 76.
Alice was born on July 24, 1932 to Jerry C. Dockweiler and Millie Lanora Pyle in LaGrande, Oregon. She was educated in La Grande and Eugene.
In 1950, she married Kenneth Francis Anderson and lived in St. Helens, Oregon. The couple later divorced and she remarried and resided in Eugene for over 25 years. The couple later divorced and she moved back to the St. Helens area.
She loved hunting, fishing, gardening, her crafts, her dog Cooper, and especially her family. She worked for the State of Oregon in Eugene for several years and at her sister's pre-school.
Her parents, her brother Darrell, and her son Jerry James Anderson preceded her in death. Alice is survived by her sisters; Geraldine Lewis-Lefever of Cherry Valley, California, and Wyona Arends of Eugene, Oregon; her sons Russ Anderson of Deer Island, Oregon, Bruce Anderson of St. Helens, Oregon, and her daughters; Kay Merrill, Sharleen Petite, and Marleen Haagenson, also of St. Helens. 17 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren also survive her.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday August 3, 2008 at her Deer Island residence at 2:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Oregon American Cancer Society in her name.
