Aline S. Gainer's Obituary
Aline S. Gainer was born on January 8, 1923 in Craigmyle, Alberta, Canada to Hugh & Elizabeth Shaw McKee.
She died at a Hillsboro hospital on February 14, 2012 at the age of 89.
Aline attended grade schools in Canada, moving to Newberg, Oregon and graduating High School there. She met and married Wallace Gainer, Jr. there on April 4, 1943. During the war when Wallace was away she worked at PGE and volunteered as a nurse's aide at Emanuel Hospital in Portland.
Wallace was a partner with his brother in the grocery business and had an opportunity to own his own store and they moved to St. Helens in 1950. She supported him at the store as well as raised their five children. They moved to Forest Grove in 2010.
They were members of Plymouth Presbyterian Church in St. Helens and she was active in the PEO and the Eastern Star. Her interests included reading, easy listening music on the radio, traveling, and her family.
Survivors include: Husband: Wallace Gainer, Jr. of Forest Grove; Five Children: Gary, Dwain & Larry Gainer all of Warren; Brenda Jennings of Eugene; Daelene Schwartz of Portland; Sister: Lenore Neumann of Portland; 8 Grandchildren; 4 Great-Grandchildren.
