Amelia A. Bloomer's Obituary
Amelia A. Bloomer was born on April 7, 1922 in St. Helens, Oregon to Noble & Maude Hattie Daniels VanDolah.
She died at a care facility in Portland on June 15, 2007 at the age of 85.
She attended Modesto Junior College in Modesto, CA. for nursing. She was a Neo-Natal and Intensive Care Nurse at Modesto City Hospital from 1976-1991. She was a logger before nursing.
She married James Bloomer in 1938, he preceded her in death in 1994.
They lived in Waterford, CA. and Modesto, CA. during her working years. They moved to Portland in the early 1990's.
Her enjoyments included family geneology and raising iris's.
Survivors include: Sons: Marvin Bloomer of Clatskanie; James Bloomer of Portland; Siblings: Berniece Gunn, Elizabeth White, Charlotte Comfort, Marion VanDolah all of St. Helens; Alta Fairchild of Gresham; Harry VanDolah of Yuba City, CA.; Pearl Tebhart of Orland, CA.; George VanDolah of Pendleton, OR.; Clarice Sweet of Deer Island; Clifford VanDolah of Rainier, OR.; 3 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren. Daughter: Laura Hix-Wahl preceded her in death in 2000.
Viewing & Visitation: 9-5 Friday at Columbia Funeral Home
Graveside service & vault interment: Saturday, 6/23/07 at 3:00 PM.
