Anna M. Kampy's Obituary
Anna M. Kampy of Scappoose, Oregon died October 29, 2005 at the age of 95. Anna was born on October October 26, 1910 in Portland, Oregon to Reverend Andrew and Alina Nurmi Ojala.
Anna graduated from Grant High School in Portland and later from Bible College in Calgary, Canada.
In 1977 she married James Eldon Kampy in Reno, Nevada. They lived in Clatskanie for awhile, but have spent most of the later years in Scappoose, Oregon.
Her love of music was obvious as she played the old christian hymns on the organ. She was a devout christian, who helped with Sunday Schools, children's crafts and kitchen duty at camps. Anna read her bible faithfully, even learning braille when her eyesight failed 10 years ago.
She was a member of the Portland Health League, loved to travel the west coast with Eldon, and did volunteer work for the elderly.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Eva. She is survived by her husband, Eldon; sisters: Esther Shriver of Redmond, Oregon, and Ruth Ahola of Brush Prairie, Oregon; and brother, Johnny Ojala of Vancouver, Washington. Several nieces and nephews and caregivers who were also became family over the years.
The funeral service will be held at Columbia Funeral Home in St. Helens on Wednesday, November 2nd at 2:00 PM. Committal Service and Vault interment at Columbia Memorial Gardens in Scappoose, Oregon. Visitation at the funeral home Tuesday, from 9 am to 5 pm and before the service.
