Annie Rose (Sims) Cameron-Adams

Annie Rose Cameron-Adams of St. Helens, Oregon died on December 9, 2015 at the age of 75 due to complications of a massive stroke and swelling of the brain. She was born November 3, 1940 in Gadsden, Alabama to Leveart Sims and Ollie Elizabeth (Rogers) Hales.
Annie attended Gadsden State Technical College where she completed the cosmetology and upholstery programs. She resided in many places throughout her life including; Alabama, Indiana, France, Georgia, California, Texas, Florida and Oregon. She was married to Floyd W. Blunk on March 8, 1956 and April of 1961 in Gadsden, Alabama they later divorced and she remarried to Jimmie E. Harris on August 18, 1965 in Etowah County, Alabama they were later divorced and she was remarried to Morris “Cam” Cameron on May 15, 1970 in Los Angeles, California they were married until his death in 1972 she remarried to Dwayne W. “Bill” Adams on August 1, 2004 in Reno, Nevada they were married until his death in 2007.
She was a strong willed person with a sensitive heart. She made her presence known no matter where she was or what she was doing. Being a military wife gave her purpose and she was very active in the DAV Auxiliary, the VFW, the Shriners and other charity organizations. If she did not agree with how our president handled things she was very passionate about she would not hesitate to write him. At least two of our presidents heard her raft and responded. Most of us knew to never bring up politics, she could talk all day that would most always end in a debate.
Annie was survived by her daughters; Dorothy “Dottie” (Blunk) Perales and her husband Johnny (Flatonia, TX), Brenda (Blunk) Flaherty and her husband Robert (Boerne, TX); son Michael E. Blunk (St. Helens, OR). Half-sisters; Linda K. Hales, Debbie and Nancy Sims. Half-brothers; David Hales, Gary Allen (Sims) (whose name had since changed and never given up trying to find him since the 1950s) and Ronald W. (Sims) Morong. Grandchildren; Holly E. (Baker)Nkemakolam, Phillip Ray Baker, Michael L. Flaherty, Adam L. Baker and Brandon M.W.O. Blunk. Great grandchildren; Makenna and Kentrel Williams, Kaliyah and Keishaun Irving, Ana, Olivia and Elle Baker, Andreas M. Baker, Hailey and Colton Flaherty. Several nephews and nieces.

Sims, half-sisters Susan J. Hales and Rebecca (Hales) Lembke. Her parents Leveart Sims (1979), Ollie Elizabeth Hales (1995) and her step father Walter O. Hales (1996).
We want to thank her caregivers Lorraine Flowers, Cheri Richards and Bobbie Jo Serber who made her feel like she was more than a job to them over the last few years. They treated her as their own family. This made her feel days without her husband were more bearable. We cant forget Sparky. He was her service dog, best friend and companion for many years and he misses her so much.
There will be no funeral service at this time. She will be cremated and further plans are in the works for her funeral in mid-2016 in Oregon and in Alabama, as she wanted her ashes joined with her late husband at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon and also with her deceased daughter in Piedmont, Alabama. This was her final wish.
Columbia Funeral Home in St. Helens, Oregon is in charge of arrangements.
