Antone J. Pavelek's Obituary
Antone J. "Andy" Pavelek was born on January 20, 1919 in Donald, Oregon to Anton & Antonia Visela Pavelek.
He died at a Portland hospital on September 28, 2009 at the age of 90.
Antone was educated and graduated from Woodburn High School in 1937, went on to receive a Bachelors degree from OSU in 1941.
He married Bernice Widman in Baker City, OR. on 10/9/47, they resided there until moving to St. Helens 50 years ago.
Antone was a district conservationist for the USDA for 32 years, retiring in 1975.
He was a member of St. Frederic Catholic Church and early on the Toastmasters. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, traveling, gardening and crabbing.
Survivors include: Wife: Bernice Pavelek; Son: Steve Pavelek both of St. Helens; Daughter: Linda Miezejeski of Vancouver, WA.; numerous nieces & nephews.
Viewing and visitation: 1-5 Monday at Columbia Funeral Home
Graveside service & vault interment: Columbia Memorial Gardens on Tuesday, 10/6/09 at 2:00 PM
