Ardell Joseph Mileti
August 21, 1931 – March 22, 2011
Ardell's courageous battle with cancer ended March 22, 2011, and he is now in the presence of our Lord.
Ardell was born in Florence, Ohio the son of Anthony & Frances Mileti. He was one of four children. He graduated from Birmingham High School in 1950. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951-1955 as a Staff Sergeant.
He became a carpenter in 1956 and completed his journeyman certificate in 1959.
During this time he met Elvira Szabo at a square dance in Ohio. They were married on November 28, 1957. They ventured out west and settled in Warren, Oregon in March of 1964. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in November, 2007.
In 1968 Ardell became a longshoreman for ILWU Local 8. After 23 years of hard work, he retired in 1991. After retirement, Ardell enjoyed going on vacations with his wife Elvira which included worldwide destinations and cruises. They also enjoyed attending the Professional Rodeo Circuit in Las Vegas. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and watching Professional Bull Riding.
He was preceded in death by his wife Elvira. Ardell is survived by his daughters Debra Baxter of Utah, Diane King of Vancouver, son, David Mileti of St. Helens and grandchildren, Aubrey, Jenise, Alyssa, Madison & Nolan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday March 26, at 11 a.m. at St. Frederic's Catholic Church, St.Helens.
