Arlene Marie Gayman's Obituary
Arlene Marie Gayman was born on December 25, 1929 in Portland, Oregon to Thomas & Jenny Ward Cline.
She died January 6, 2005 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Portland, OR. following a long illness at the age of 75.
She attended elementary school in Portland and graduated from high school in Miltonvale, Kansas where she met the love of her life, Ernest Gayman, Jr. They were married on May 29, 1947 and shared 57 years as husband and wife.
Arlene was an active member in her church and community. She served as PTA president for Scappoose grade school 1957-1958 and in 1965-1966.
She was a room mother for many years while her children attended school. She volunteered numerous hours for the American Red Cross, where she worked with servicemen and thier families.
She was a member of the Historical Society and very active in Chapman Community Church, playing the piano and singing were her enjoyments.
She is survived by her husband: Ernest Gayman, Jr. of Scappoose, OR.; Children: Constance Bush of Portland, OR.; Kathleen Rask of Stockton, CA.; Brent Rayman of Hillsboro, OR. and Grant Gayman of Scappoose, OR.; Siblings: Donald Cline of Portland, OR.; Donna Rae Gross of Garden Home, OR.; Thomas Cline, Jr. of Vancouver, WA.; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by sister Dorothy Peterson.
Funeral Service: Tuesday, January 11, 2005 at Morning Star Worship Center in Scappoose, OR. at 11:00 AM
Committal service & vault interment: Fairview Cemetery.
