Joanne Eisenzimmer lit a candle in memory of Barbara Ade-Baer

I will always cherish my childhood living next door to my grandma Baer. From pulling tansies in the horse pasture for $1, to tending the garden, preparing veggies for stew, learning how to keep slugs away from roses, how to care for the animals, crotchet, sew, and many more life skills. Grandma was a strong woman of many talents and I will miss her dearly, but I’m happy that she can now square dance in heaven with grandpa Baer.
Barb, my step mom for 35 years was such a sweet person. She made my dad very happy when she accepted his proposal those many years ago. I was a bit miffed after losing my mom not even a year earlier. I grew to know Barb and found she was the best thing for my dad. I truly love her for that. She became a grandma to my children, really the only grandma my daughter really remembers. I enjoyed many visits out to the farm, riding the horses or picking the apples and just visiting. I enjoyed learning to Square Dance and Round Dance with the both of them. I have such good memories of the time spent with my dad dancing and seeing him enjoy life.
My daughter, Jessica, loved going and staying for days in the summer when she was in her youth. I am glad she got to experience the country life they provided.
I was so blessed to be able to see and communicate with Barb in her last days. It was hard to see her pass, but I am glad I took the time to show that I cared.
I will miss Barb when I think of my dad. I love you, Barb. I hope you are at peace and happy. Myrna
