Barbara Lee Schaumburg's Obituary
A Celebration of Life will be held, 2:00 PM, Thursday, July 7th at Columbia Funeral Home. Mrs. Schaumburg passed away at a local Portland Hospital, June 25th. She was 78 years of age.
Barbara was born March 9, 1933 in San Antonio, Texas to Edward and Alma Smith. They had two daughters.
Barbara received her nursing certificate and worked as a nurse at St. Vincent Medical Center for over 30 years, retiring in 1999. She later went to work for the Red Cross. She married Larry James Schaumburg, December 27, 1975 in Vancouver, Washington and they have lived in Portland for the last thirty five years.
Barbara was a member of the National Rifle Association and Horizon Community Church in Tualatin, Oregon. She enjoyed her flower gardens and being a rock hound, collecting rock where ever they traveled. They loved to square dance and did so regularly. She and Larry traveled much after they retired they traveled many times back to Harlingen, Texas. She dearly loved her dogs, Toby and Dallas.
Barbara is survived by her husband of 35 years, Children and spouses; Robbin Boos of Tualatin Steve, Ron Schaumburg Denita of Redmond, Ryan Schaumburg Jen of Tualatin, Renee Hafeman Mike of Scappoose, daughter in law, Sherrie Craig and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and beloved friends Lance Troutman & Kim Plutte . She is preceded in death by her son, John Dalen Craig, sister, Shirley "New" Sussdorf.
