Barry L. O'Connor's Obituary
Barry L. O'Connor was born on December 10, 1949 in Florida to Joseph & Dorothy Ponder O'Connor.
He died at his home in Goble on January 17, 2007 at the age of 57.
He was educated in different parts of the country since his father was in the military. He moved to Oregon as a youngster and has lived here since.
He was a welder for Houser Steel Company in Portland, retiring in 1998.
He attended the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. His biggest enjoyment was music, he was a guitarist, singer, song writing & performing at the Gold Tavern with his son. He also enjoyed sturgeon fishing, loved his friends, and his dog "Baby". He led a quiet life with his son, dog, music.
Survivors include: Sons: Joseph O'Connor of Scappoose; Barry L. O'Connor, Jr. "BJ"; Stepfather: Douglas Dickerson of Charleston, Arkansas; Siblings: Jerry Dickerson of Florida; Grant Dickerson; Jack O'Connor both of Portland; Michael O'Connor of Port Orford, OR.; Danny O'Connor, Debbie Robbins both of John Day, OR.; Nieces: Michelle Custer of John Day, Dawn Marie Robbins of Lake Oswego, OR.; Dog-"Baby". Preceded in death by a brother: Robert O'Connor.
Memorial service: Monday, January 22, 2007 at 2:00 PM at the Goble Tavern, Goble, Oregon.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Helens High School Band.
