Benjamin Patrick Powell's Obituary
On January 27, 2025, the world lost a character like no other when Benjamin "Benny" Patrick Powell took his final bow at the age of 55. Born on April 4, 1969, in St. Helens, Benny's life was a tapestry of laughter, love, and legendary storytelling.
Benny spent his days hunting, fishing, soaking up the sun at the beach, and rocking out at concerts, but his true passion was simply being with his family. Whether splitting firewood or singing karaoke, Benny was always ready for a good time and never missed an opportunity to show up for those he loved—always with a beaming smile.
Benny was the kind of guy who held babies with the same enthusiasm as he did a fishing rod, and he could weave a story as skillfully as he could cast a line. His famous pickles will be sorely missed by all who were lucky enough to taste them. As a proud member of the Elks Lodge, Benny cherished the camaraderie and community spirit that came with it.
He leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his adventurous spirit and infectious grin: his devoted wife Kathleen, his three daughters Haylie Powell, Riki Scheer, and Alyssa Mullenix, and his parents Wayne Powell, Cece Davis and John Davis.
His legacy is also fondly remembered by his step-children, siblings, nieces and nephews, a multitude of grandchildren, and a host of friends who became family over the years.
Services to celebrate Benny's lively spirit and honor his memory will be held with a private graveside service on February 7th, 2025 at Bayview Cemetery at 2:00 pm for family and close friends followed by a memorial service on February 8th, 2025 at the Elks Lodge in St. Helens, Oregon at 3:00 pm.
Friends and family are invited to gather, share stories, and remember the man who brought joy and laughter to every occasion. Though Benny may have cast off on his next great adventure, his stories, love, and laughter will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew him. Rest easy, Benny—you'll always be our favorite pickle man.
