Bertha Blanche Mueller February 6, 1933 ~ October 22, 2017
Bertha (Bert) Blanche (Sanford) Mueller passed away peacefully with friends and family by her side in Vancouver, Washington on October 22, 2017. Bert was born to John and Bertha Sanford, February 6, 1933 in Nampa, Idaho. She was the third child born in the family of five. She graduated from high school in Glenns Ferry where she met her future husband, Glenn Mueller. Glenn and Bert married on January 5, 1954 in Roswell, New Mexico. Together they had three children, Frank, Glenna, and Kevin. The family lived in several places, eventually settling down in St. Helens, Oregon in 1969.
Bertha loved her family and enjoyed bonding with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed working in her garden and reading. Through the years, she did sew, but didn’t develop a great love for sewing. She crocheted, knitted and embroidered. Bert spent time volunteering at Columbia County Juvenile Department and eventually took a job working with NW Natural Gas.
She was preceded in death by her parents John and Bertha Sanford, her oldest sister June (Sanford) Gooby and her older brother John Sanford.
Bert leaves behind her husband Glenn Mueller, her daughter Glenna Semling, her sons Frank and Kevin Mueller. Her grandchildren, James Forbis, Jenny (Forbis) and Richard Hoerauf, Jessie VanBrunt, Briggs Mueller, Ricky Rempfer, as well as great grandchildren, Carter and Jaylynne Hoerhauf, Jordan, Caidence and Rylan VanBrunt.
A Funeral Service will be held on October 27, 2017 at 11:00 AM, at Columbia Funeral Home.
A viewing will be held prior to the service.
