Betty was a wonderful person. She took me into her home when I needed help and guidance my Jr year in highschool. She helped me re-evaluate the path I was taking and graduated school with all A's. I have great memories of my Grandma Betty. She always remembered my birthday with a card. As a child when my family visited Grandma at their Yankton farm I remember a house full of activity, and french vanilla ice cream with Hershey's chocolate syrup. It was always there, but you had to go get it out of the freezer in the scary basement. She was kind to all around. Her house was a safe place for many orphans and people that needed love or just great food and good times. I remember how as my mom aged her and Grandma Betty looked more and more alike each other.
