Betty June Watt's Obituary
Betty June Watt, born June 29, 1926 in Osceola Nebraska to Gust and Betty Sandin, passed away at her daughter's home in Gresham Oregon on July 31st. The youngest of siblings Marion Nelson and Monroe Sandin, both deceased.
Raised in Minnesota until graduating high school at the age of 17, she accompanied her parents to Long Beach, California to work in the WWII shipyards. She met a sailor, Robert A. Watt and they were married August 24, 1945 in his hometown of St. Helens Oregon. They moved to Scappoose in 1958. Bob and Betty were married for 65 years when he preceded her in death in 2010.
Children Nancy Monroe of Gresham, Ronald A. Watt Gwen of Portland, Mary Fancher Frank and Richard M. Watt Christi of Scappoose. Many grandchildren and great grandchildren will miss "Grandma Betty". She also leaves numerous beloved nieces and nephews in the Midwest.
Betty will be remembered for her smiling face in the meat market at Scappoose's P&G Thriftway and for her uncanny ability to catch salmon. She and Bob enjoyed traveling throughout the world after retirement.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, August 11, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Columbia Memorial Gardens, 54490 Columbia River Hwy Scappoose, OR 97056 conducted by Columbia Funeral Home, St. Helens Oregon.
