Bradley Gary Parnell's Obituary
Brad Parnell passed away at his home in St. Helens, March 11th. He was 36 years old.
Brad was born May 27, 1974 in Portland, Oregon to Russ and Sandy Parnell and was the youngest of four children. He was a lifetime resident of St Helens, attending Yankton Elementary School and graduating from St. Helens High School in 1992.
After high school he worked in the lumber industry both as a choker setter and faller. He then went to work at Boise Cascade running a paper machine for several years before starting his own trucking company. He owned and operated Parnell Trucking for seven years before closing it down in 2010. His most recent employment was with Taylor Trucking.
Brad was a devoted father to his two sons Kyle and Cody. He loved people and had many gatherings at his home in Yankton. An avid hunter and fisherman Brad loved the outdoors. He excelled at anything that he tried including, golf and motocross. His dream was to own his own company and he was proud to have created Parnell Trucking.
Brad is survived by his sons; Kyle and Cody Parnell of St. Helens his mother; Sandy Parnell and her husband Steve Jenkins of Deer Island, his sister Angie Ragan and Jerry Case of St. Helens. Survivors also include his grandfather Bernard Weber of Scappoose, his grandmother Phyllis Parnell of Grants Pass, nephews; Nate, Holden, T. J. and niece Hannah Ragan as well as numerous aunts and uncles.
Brad was preceded in death by his father Russ and brothers, Kenny and Bobby Parnell.
