Candy was my choir teacher in middle school and she wrangled all of us preteen kids like a total pro. She was the first person to identify that maybe I wasn’t the worst singer (not a good singer but not the worst!) and that I was an alto so I should stop trying to sing songs that were out of my range. I still remember the song she taught us where I thought “oh hey my voice doesn’t sound totally terrible…” One Tin Solider.
Candy was a literal mother to many but she mothered so many more. She lived a life that provided love and comfort to everyone in her sphere and I’m so grateful I knew her. Sending the Weitzel family so much love.
