Rest in peace, Carlene. Our families were close when we lived in St. Helens. We went camping and spent a lot of time at each other's houses. I have many memories of my Mom and Carlene doing things together. She's even in our own family picture albums! She helped so many people in recovery and will be missed. My condolences to Annette, Ray, Jim and her family.
Carlene was so dear to me. She would drive to Vancouver when I had my salon to get her hair cut long after her and my dad divorced. She was such a trooper having the five kids and taking us camping and caring for Brett and I and treating us like her own. We tortured her when we drove camping at Cougar. I loved to hear her laugh and giggle because she sounded like Betty from the Flintstones. Carlene had some rough times and she always was caring and compassionate. I just found out that she has passed and I am deeply saddened and send love to Annette and Ray and Jim. Losing a mother is never easy no matter what and I know Carlene is now at peace no longer fighting her health. What a sweetheart of a step mom. I will carry love in my heart for her forever. Rest in peace Carlene. You are so loved.
She helped me many years ago and for that I will always be greatful.
Carlene and Dick were two of the most memorable people I met when moving to this area in 1985. I will always remember Carlene's fire and her intelligence, not to mention her strength and resiliency.
