Caroline Beth Allen's Obituary
Heaven just got a lot more fun, because Caroline “Carol” Allen of Sandy, Oregon, made her grand entrance on October 21, 2024 , at the age of 81, ready to light up the afterlife with her trademark spunk.
Born on January 8, 1943, to Dean and Cleobeth Kitto in Portland, Oregon. Carol was one of five siblings, alongside Sherri, Dean, Cathy and Greg. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in the class of ‘61.
Carol’s heart was won by Alfred Schmitz in 1963, and together they raised two sons, Matthew and Dean. The arrival of her granddaughter Kelsie, who was the light of her life like no other. She was the twinkle twinkle little star.
For nearly two decades, Carol was a cherished part of the US Bank team where she was loved by all who knew her. In 1989 she partnered up with Douglas Allen, a man who knew his way around the woods and her heart. Doug’s career in the timber industry had them trekking through the Northwest and Alaska. Carol’s love for travel was more about pleasure than business. Together, they cruised the high seas and hula’d under Hawaiian skies, with Carol ready to enjoy the casino life style.
Carol’s influence on the Allen family was no illusion; she transformed them into a troupe of huggers, each embrace a testament to her legacy of love.
In 2012, Carol faced a brain aneurysm like she faced everything else-incredibly bravely. She spent her remaining years cared for by the angels at Good Samaritan of Fairlawn Village in Gresham, Oregon, until she was escorted to the Lord’s House.
She’s now hugging it out with the angels, survived by her loving husband Douglas Allen of 35 years, her sons Matthew and Dean Schmitz and her granddaughter Kelsie.
Carol has already been laid to rest next to her beloved mother at St. Wenceslaus Cemetery in Scappoose, Oregon.
Join us for Carol’s Celebration of Life that will be held on Tuesday at 2 PM, November 5, 2024, at the St. Wenceslaus Church, 51555 Old Portland Road, Scappoose, Oregon. Come ready to share stories, laughter and memories.
