Carolyn K. Barger's Obituary
Carolyn K. Barger, 67, passed away Monday, November 3, 2014.
Carolyn was born on June 5, 1947 to Cornelius and Violet Unger. She was the youngest of nine children, growing up in Scappoose, Oregon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walt Barger, whom she married in 1964. Also preceding her were her great grandson Justin Boyce and siblings Donald Unger, Helen Hansen, Mildred Ashley, Robert Mott, and John Unger.
Through the years Carolyn enjoyed working in her yard, feeding the birds and critters who would visit it, camping, playing cards, reading and spending time with friends and family. Watching “the Wheel” with her was a challenge as she had a special gift for solving the puzzle when only a letter or two were turned. Carolyn was lighthearted and never missed a chance to “say a funny” in almost any situation.
Survivors include her children Rick Barger and Shelley (Rich) Larsen, three grandchildren Shawn Barger, Chasity (Doug) Boyce, Codie Larsen and great grandson Roman Boyce. Also surviving Carolyn are her siblings Lily Goodwin, Helen (Fred) Sandau, and Raymond (Pearl) Unger.
A celebration of Carolyn’s life will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at the Scappoose Senior Center.
