Cecil Hicks' Obituary
Private burial will take place at Willamette Nation Cemetery late this week. Mr. Hicks passed awayJuly 10th at his home in St. Helens surrounded by his family. He was 90 years old.
Born July 7th, 1921 in Kansas City, Kansas to Clarence M. and Margie M. Bittle Hicks, Cecil was the older of two sons.
He graduated high school and then went into the United States Navy in 1938. His ship had just left Pearl Harbor a few days before December 7, 1941. He served his country for over 23 years before retiring as a Senior Chief Petty Officer in 1962. Afterwards he settled in Florida and worked as a Production Manager for Cobia Boat Company in Sanford, Florida during the 1970's.
On December 21, 1981 he married Lynn Carol Hardy and a few years later he retired again. He and Carol traveled for several years visiting all 48 contiguous states. Cecil and Carol moved to St. Helens in 1985 from Orlando, Florida.
Cecil is survived by his wife of 30 years Lynn Carol Hardy, daughters; Beverly Barnett of Portland and Melanie Sellars of Oregon City, three granddaughters and husbands; Brenda & Bill Casey, Debbie and Rick Schwartz and Julie and Michael Megrath, grandson and wife Ron & Martine Barnett, nine great Grandchildren; Ryan & Brandon Casey, Ashley & Alexis Wold, Rhys Megrath, Annika & Bethany Barnett, Audrea &Seanna Von Ins.
Cecil will be missed by all.
