I remember so much about my favorite Uncle, Charlie. When my dad was working Uncle Charlie would take me to the father/daughter activities. I’m sure that’s where I drank my first Shirley Temple or “virgin” drink! My uncle Charlie was the most handsome, quietest, sweetest, most loving uncle I could have have hoped for. I will remember hanging out with him while he fixed stuff in the garage and our summer trips to Fort Stevens will NEVER be forgotten! Thank you for letting me sit in as your surrogate daughter. It was my honor and I loved it. You are the most handsome uncle I have ever had!! I love you. Thanks for all the awesome memories!

Charlie was a wonderful person. He stepped in (years ago) and took our daughter Kelly to the Father/Daughter banquet at the Elks Club when her Dad was working. Kelly will always remember that. Charlie was a good husband, Dad, brother, Uncle and most of all, Grandpa. I'll see you on the other side, Charlie. I love you!

Charlie,
It’s so hard to know what to say. You’ve been a grandpa to my son, more than I could ever ever have asked for. You’ve been like a father me as well. You made sure that little boy knew he was loved as much as his daddy would have loved him. You were someone to look up to, watching you with your sons, your grandsons, your wife, and long time friends, you were always kind. I knew when you weren’t happy with a situation, but never saw you angry. You were such a loving person. We have missed you more than you will ever know.

Charlie was like a father to me when I was younger his family lived right behind us. He used help me fix my bike to my car when something was wrong. His family used to take me camping and the best part was to the Hydoplane races in Tri City Washington. We use watch the girls walking by in their swimsuit. His two boys were like brothers to me. He was the best next door neighbor a person could ask for. I sure going miss hi but he up there with him wife and his youngest son Craig and he up there with my father looking down top of us. RIP Dad Charlie.

Charlie Carpenter and his wife, Bev, were our (Sandy and me) "backyard" neighbors for 25 years! They lived on south 8th and we on south 9th!

We were friends who became like family. Charlie and I both worked at the paper rmill and Bev kept things going at Midway Electric! Our boys (Mike & Craig Carpenter) and (Dan and Jim Dillard) became close friends. Charlie & Bev became godparents to granddaughter, Crystal. We spent a week together at the Worlds Fair in Vancouver, BC. We camped at Ft. Stevens and even in our backyard! Charlie could fix anything and so he always came up with solutions for the broken water pipes or leaks! We loved each other so much!
My heart aches for the loss of Charlie!
