CHARLOTTE ANN VLASTELICIA
August 3, 1936 - June 3, 2017
“Loving Memories Last Forever”
Charlotte Ann Vlastelicia passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2017, with her family by her side. Charlotte was born on August 3, 1936, in Astoria, Oregon to Evelyn and Toivo Kivisto. At age 9, her family moved from Astoria to Knappa-Svensen, Oregon, where as a freshman in high school she met the love of her life, John Vlastelicia. From that first "wink" in band practice, it was always Char and Johnnie. They married in 1956, raised 5 children, and enjoyed 14 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Charlotte actively participated in the St. Wenceslaus prayer circle and the Ladies of Callahan Road Club. She loved her cats, her yard and flowers, and her hummingbirds, but her real joy was in caring for her family. For that, her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren are forever grateful.
Charlotte is survived by her husband of 60 years, John Vlastelicia, her 5 children, Susie (Doug), Karen (Delbert), Joe (Jeanni), Dan (Karen), and John (Tess), and her sister Patty Kivisto (Mike Jones). She is preceded in death by her sister Judy Josephson (Dennis).
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Scappoose, Oregon, at 10 am on Saturday, June 10, 2017. The family invites you to join them afterward at the Scappoose Senior Center for refreshments and sharing memories of Char.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice that supports families, love and peace.
