Clarence Albert Thayer's Obituary
Clarence A. Thayer was born April 8, 1919 in Oneonta, New York to Louis and Inez (Whittaker) Thayer. He passed away on May 22, 2014 in Tualatin, Oregon at the age of 95.
Clarence was stationed at Ft. Canby during WWII, and on a furlough in Portland he met his future wife Libby, they married in 1945 and made their home in Scappoose, Oregon for over 60 years.
During Clarence’s long career driving trucks, he worked for Mayflower, Grayhound, and Fred Meyers.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews both here and on the East Coast.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Columbia Funeral Home in St. Helens, Oregon. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM before the service.
