Clifford Russell Carpenter's Obituary
Clifford Russell Carpenter was born December 16, 1907 in Rosston, Oklahoma. He moved to Idaho in 1929, where he farmed, Milwaukie, Oregon in 1941 where he worked in the shipyards, Clatskanie, Oregon in 1945 where he farmed and worked in the mill, moved into town in Rainier in 1964, and then to St. Helens in 1979 where he was retired and wintered in Yuma, AZ.
He was married October 8, 1927 in Buffalo, OK to Mary Abigail Connet and she preceded him in death on December 18, 2006.
He was an active member of Grace Baptist Church, St. Helens. He was a hard worker, loved woodworking and had a good sense of humor.
He died April 4, 2007 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Portland.
Survivors include, his children, Gene and Bess Carpenter of St. Helens, Zolene and Dean Vaage of McMinnville, Don and Charliene Carpenter of Port Angeles, WA, Clifford Carpenter of Portland; daughter-in-law, Beulah Carpenter of Medford, OR; two brothers, Rex and Iola Carpenter of Vale, OR and Harry Carpenter of Caldwell, Idaho; numerous nieces and nephews; 19 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and 15 great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Elvin Carpenter, 1 granddaughter and 1 great grandson.
Memorial Services will be held Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at 11:00 AM at the Grace Baptist Church, St. Helens.
Private interment at Lincoln Memorial Park, Portland, Oregon.
