Constance "Connie" Fay Thomas' Obituary
Connie was born in Spokane, WA, on August 13, 1943, to Roy and Viola Ventris. She grew up in Scappoose and graduated salutatorian at Scappoose High School. Connie passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus with her children by her side on October, 26, 2021 following a courageous battle with CHF and COPD.
Connie worked for the American Title Company in north central California before moving to Silverton where she became the office manager at Immanuel Lutheran Church where she was a member. She assisted in the operations of the family’s farm while in Silverton. After that, she worked as an office assistant for 21 years for the Oregon State Police, Salem Patrol Office. Connie married Hank Thomas in 1961. They were married for 24 years.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents; former husband, Hank; and brother, Larry Ventris.
Connie is survived by her sister, Jan Nutter (Jim); twin brother, Ken Ventris (Peggy); son, Dale Thomas (Cindy); and daughter, Kathi Torresdal (Jerry). Also, grandchildren, Dustin, Breanna, Moriah, Daniel, Haylee, Wesley, Justin, Zach, and Kolbein; nine great-grandchildren; and 15 nieces and nephews.
Connie enjoyed spending time at the beach every summer with both her bridge group and high school classmates. She also enjoyed singing in the choir and attending Bible study at her most recent church, Our Savior’s Lutheran in Salem.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00pm, July 16, 2022 at the family farm in Silverton 8528 Cascade Hwy., with Rev. Karen Shimer presiding. A reception will follow the service. All are welcome. Serving the family, Columbia Funeral Home, St. Helens.
