Corinne J. Liberty's Obituary
Born June 5th 1925 in Chicago Illinois Corinne Jeanette Rohdenburg, to Herbert and Getrude Rohdenburg. Corinne held various jobs, selling War Bonds, doing the books at Don the Beach Comber's, as a cook at a Monastery and at Bell and Howell doing time studies. She and two girl friends toured the Eastern Seaboard singing as the "Melodeers". . . All that before she met Warren Liberty at the Aragon Ballroom who she married a few months later on June 26th 1948. They lived in her parent's house where they had their first child, Dennis. Then, as was the practice in those days, they moved about pursuing his career in aerospace. Landing in southern California they had Sally, Ross and Annette. Between raising kids and bowling she took up catering serving the Cal State Fullerton Faculty and the LA Rams. In 1974 the Libertys moved up to Ukiah where Corinne continued catering, joining clubs, singing in the Grace Lutheran Church choir and forming the Elk's Club "Liberty Belle's.
In 2004 Corinne and Warren moved up to Scappoose Oregon to be closer to their daughter, Sally and her family. In Scappoose, Corinne, being the perennial joiner and social butterfly, joined the Grace Lutheran Church Choir, Red Hat Society, Down-Sizers, Scappoose Sauerkraut Festival, and the Scappoose Senior Center.
Corinne enjoyed bantering with Warren, her husband of 60 years, joining everything, socializing, cooking, watching Jeopardy! and golf, RVing, cruises and any and all family functions.
Corinne will be missed by her son Dennis Liberty of Potter Valley CA, Dennis' children, Colleen Nowlin, Patrick Pierce, and Denise Bailey: Her daughter Sally Smith of Scappoose OR, her husband Ed, and their daughters Stacy Garrett and Christine Smith: Her son Ross Liberty of Ukiah CA, his wife Cheryl and their daughters, Amanda and Laura: and Corinne's youngest daughter, Annette Gilbertson of Boise ID, her husband Kevin, and their sons Jacob and Chase.
Corinne was preceded in death by Warren Liberty, her husband of 60 years.
