Darryl was an important and highly valued member of the P&G Thrifty family whenever he was in charge Dad (Pete Nunn) felt comfortable and confident Darryl would get the job done and do it well. Darryl was reliable, faithful, hard working and honest. No one before or since could work harder or faster than him, he was a wizard at managing the frozen food at the store. Darryl was kind and generous to my parents and to me -- even when I was, no doubt, an obnoxious teenager.
As dad struggled with dementia he still recognized Darryl and his hard and honest work at the store. Every time dad saw Darryl he'd say, "Now there's a good man." For dad that was a great compliment. That's how I remember Darryl a great man working hard to care for his family. May God bless him now and forever more.
