Terri Sweet
I am so sad to hear of Dea's passing. I did my school internship at Avamere and she was the one whom I was always so excited to see! I continued to visit after my internship and did vigils there for residents who were passing. I loved sitting with her in her room and talking about things and holding her hand. I also loved interacting with her when it was activity time. She was so full of life and energy. She would always ask me what her name was and I would say "Dea, drug enforcement agency" and she would make sure I added the last part each time and she would smile... She never wanted me to leave, but would always say her famous lines that were listed in her obituary, "See you later alligator, or in awhile crocodile." We talked about deep things, and as a member of the church I would be comfortable talking with her about those deep things and would bring her messages when I could. Sometimes we sang songs and she was so delighted that I was a member visiting. She reminded me so much of my own sweet grandmother whom I loved so much. She was truly a joy... I had an overwhelming feeling this last month that I needed to go over and visit her and I am so sad that I did not follow through on those promptings. What a beautiful obituary for a beautiful daughter of God. She was loved and will be missed so very much. She is now learning about all the mysteries of the universe surrounded by those who went before. Take care sweet Dea until we meet again. Love, Terri Sweet...
