Delbert Lee Hamilton's Obituary
Delbert Lee Hamilton, 85, passed away peacefully on January 24th, 2024, at his home in Scappoose, Oregon.
Delbert was born in McCook, Nebraska on May 9th, 1938, the middle son of Frances & Lloyd Hamilton.
Delbert attended school in Nebraska, then later enlisted in the army at the age of 17. He then moved to Oregon and started working at Crown Zellerbach in Columbia City, where he spent most of his working years as a millwright. There he met his wife, Peggy Grimes (Jones); they wed in April of ‘85 and he helped raise her 3 children. They were married for 37 years until her passing in June of 2022.
Delbert enjoyed going on adventures with his wife Peggy which included going out dancing, driving to the coast, and making surprise visits to their kids and grandkids.
Delbert often kept himself busy with different projects; no challenge was too big nor too small. He was very driven and determined. Once he envisioned a project, he set his mind to it; he never gave up until it was complete.
Delbert was a caring man who made his family a priority. He loved his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids all the same, blood related or not. To him, family was family.
