Diane “Dee” Schmitt

Diane “Dee” Schmitt, age 69, of Scappoose, passed away on Friday, November 11, 2016 at St.
Vincent Medical Center, Portland, Oregon. Diane was born in the Bronx, New York in 1946 and lived there until she met the love of her life, Bob Schmitt. Bob and Diane were married in 1967 and began their adventure moving west through Missouri, Idaho, and eventually settling in Oregon.
In Scappoose since 1975, Diane was a devoted wife and mother. She worked as an optometric
assistant for 22 years. She was a dedicated, beloved member of AA for 35 years, helping
many people on their journey to recovery.
Diane led a full and active life and brought joy to many with her sunny disposition. She is
survived by her husband, Bob, two sons, Steven (Angela) and Brian (Randi), granddaughter
Chloe, sisters Joan Landgren and Lorraine Van Bomel, in addition to many more caring relatives
and friends.
The family wishes to thank all those who’ve sent condolences. Plans for a celebration of Diane’s
life are pending.
