Dixie Faye Smith's Obituary
Dixie passed away, Saturday, February 12th, 2011 in a Portland care facility at the age of 69.
Dixie was born December 18, 1941 in Fossil, Oregon to Burton and Eunice Morgan Shell. She was the 2nd of 6 Children.
She attended schools in Arlington and graduated from Fossil High School in 1959, where she excelled in volleyball. Dixie married William Lee Smith on February 14, 1964 in Portland. From this marriage they have two children. They moved to the St. Helens area in 1967 from Fossil, Oregon.
Dixie was a volunteer for the Senior Center in St. Helens and Heart Association. She worked at the Village Inn, Elks Lodge, Dairy Delish, and retired from Sherlock's Grocery in 2001.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Bill, children; Deborah Sue "Susie" Smith of Salem, Oregon and Michael Smith of St. Helens, siblings; Rodger Shell of St. Helens, Steve Shell of Hyden, Kentucky, James Shell of Rock Springs, Wyoming and Elizabeth "Kitty" Braun of Gooding, Idaho. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister: Martha Shell.
