Dolores Jean McBride who preferred to be called Jean passed away Mother’s Day, May 8, 2016 at age 86, surrounded by family and oved one’s, she had heart problems for many years.
Jean was born in Burlington, Colorado, her mother died in an auto accident when Jean was just 4 years old and she went to live with her grandparents in Green Mountain, Iowa. She later went to live with her aunt Ruth in Los Angeles, California for several years and then to Ogden, Utah, to live with her dad and stepmother.
She met James (Jim) McBride, who was in the Army Air Corps at Hill Field at that time. After his discharge he went to St. Helens, Oregon and Jean joined him there. They were married in Warren, Oregon in 1946. They owned several small businesses over the years and she was both an accomplished manager and homemaker. She loved cooking, knitting, needlework and most of all quilting.
She was survived by her sons Michael McBride and Marvin (Dell) McBride, 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
