Dona Marie Spieler's Obituary
Dona Marie was born on February 28, 1936 in Portland, Oregon to Harry and Dagmar Jensen Swank.
She died peacefully at her home in St. Helens on June 2, 2012 at the age of 76.
In 1954 Dona graduated from Jefferson High School in Portland. She married Richard Spieler on June 4, 1965. She was a true Oregonian – living all of her life in the cities of St. Helens or Portland.
Dona was first and foremost a MOM; but she did spend 10 years as a CNA working in a nursing home. She was an avid reader, liked to crochet and sew, and enjoyed family camping trips and time at the beach. She dearly loved her children and grandchildren.
Dona is survived by her husband, Richard Spieler; Children: Karen Spieler-Ogden, Carl Spieler, Sr., Carl Spieler, Jr., Stanley Timmings, Linda Richardson and step-children, Susan Straub and Sally Strom; 14 grand children; 15 great-grand children and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Richard Eugene Spieler in 1992.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
