Donald Gilbert Deane, Sr.'s Obituary
Donald Deane was born May 24, 1934 in Portland, Oregon the son of Alfred Franklin Deane and Vida M Piper Deane Harger. He died April 1, 2008 at the Ray Hickey House Hospice House in Vancouver, WA.
Donald graduated from the Roosevelt High School in St. Johns. He served in the US Army in the 503rd Airborne infantry. He was married on December 23, 1953 in Sandy Utah to Patricia Ann Ball, and she preceded him in death on September 4, 2007. He has been a resident of Scappoose for the past 32 years.
Donald was a forman for Acme Trading and Supply Company in Portland for many years. He loved to fish.
Survivors include his mother, Vida M. Harger of Palo Alto, CA; his children, Donald G. Deane Jr of Vancouver, WA, Daniel Deane of Vancouver, WA, Kathy Franklin of Scappoose and Douglas Deane of Portland; his brother, Gregory H. Deane of Palo Alto, CA; 6 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be Friday, 4/4/08 at 11:00 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Committal and military honors will be At Willamette National Cemetery on Monday, 4/7/08 at 10:30 AM. Contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society.
