Doris Gudrun Calder
Doris Calder passed away in West Linn, Oregon on August 22, 2012. Doris was born on February 13, 1928 to Frans and Britta Engstrom in Fort Frances, Ontario Canada. She completed her education in Ft. Frances and was employed there until marrying Lawrence Calder in 1952, then relocating to International Falls, Minnesota. They were both employed there until relocating to St. Helens, Oregon. Lawrence passed away October 20, 2005 in St. Helens.
Survivors are her two sons, Bruce of Barcelona, Spain and Jim of West Linn, Oregon. Three granddaughters, Brittany Calder, Danielle Calder and Alexa Powell. Sisters Elly Zub and Mable Plymate of Ft. Frances, Ontario, and numerous nieces and nephews in Canada. Her husband, Lawrence Calder, her parents and two siblings preceded her.
Doris was a volunteer at the St. Helens Sr. Center where she enjoyed organizing the office and helping other seniors.
Interests were reading, sewing, gardening, crossword puzzles, bird watching, travel, and dancing.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring of 2013-Private family interment: Willamette National Cemetery-Portland.
