Dorothea - Schmit's Obituary
Dorothea Schmit was born on February 5, 1929 in Kualwitz, Germany to Joseph & Anna Oszenda Grezeschok.
She died on April 30, 2008 at a Portland hospital at the age of 79.
She moved from Germany to Scappoose in 1948, living here until present. She was married to Francis Schmit on July 16, 1948. He preceded her in death in 1984. She was a homemaker, beloved mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Scappoose.
Survivors include: Children: Bonnie Schmit of Phoenix, AZ.; Paul Schmit of Camas, WA.; Joseph Schmit of Scappoose, OR.; 10 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; surviving siblings in Germany.
Viewing & Visitation: 1-5 Friday, Rosary 7:00 PM Friday: both at Columbia Funeral Home-St. Helens
Funeral Mass: St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church-Scappoose; Saturday, 5/3/08 at 10:00 AM
Committal service & interment: Monday 5/5/08 at 10:00 AM at Willamette National Cemetery-Portland, Oregon.
