Dorothy Jean Johnson

Dorothy Johnson passed away at her home on May 30, 2019 at the age of 91. Dorothy was born November 3, 1927 to Fred and Margaret (Shoemaker) Heller in Portland, Oregon. She grew up attending high school in Columbia County and Dorothy graduated from Scappoose High School with the class of 1944. She attended college at Willamette University for a year and on March 8, 1946 she married to Gordon Robert Johnson and began their home on Bunker Hill. She and Gordon were members of a Presbyterian Church.
Dorothy worked as a bookkeeper for several business’ over the years. After Gordon’s death in 1999 Dorothy kept busy reading, looking after her grand kids, seasonal decorating and working in her yard.
Dorothy is survived by her children; Greg and Susan, her siblings; Don Heller, Fred Heller, Lou Hanson and Vicki Hunt, 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years Gordon Johnson.
A funeral will be held Sunday, June 9, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Columbia Funeral Home in St. Helens, Oregon. Donations in her name can be made to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
