Born August 15, 1922 in St. Helens, Oregon Passed Away August 15, 2015 in St. Helens, Oregon
Parents John Knut Mattson and Anna Ollus Mattson.
Preceded in death by parents, husband James Schmit, brothers; Bern, Lennard, Robert, and James. Sister; Ann Peterson, Agnes Mattson, Edith Fischer, Mildred Ellsberg, and Jean Lehto.
Survived by: Sister Margaret Simons of St. Helens, Oregon, daughter D’Ann Schmit of Forks, Washington, grandsons Justin Schmit and Chase Adams both of Forks, Washington. A great-grandson Orion Schmit and numerous nieces and nephews also survive her.
Dorothy was a Scappoose High School graduate and worked for Convoy County in the 1950s and was also a housewife. A friend to all animals.
