I was on one of D's ladies softball teams. We were called Direct Current because the IBEW was our sponsor. We had uniforms and nice warmups. We were older and a bit rude. We argued with D and the umpires. We smoked. We drank. We won our city league one year. Amazing memories.
I came to Portland from Atlanta in May 1987 I met Duane at his Job State unemployment Office where he helped me sign up for benefits and look for work he also made me acquainted with some of his friends and asso ciates we have remained friends for 35 years. Just 2 weeks or so before he passed he wanted me to have his phone number and told to call him ifnI ever needed anything I will cherish that ad his willingness to always make sure I was Alright he would often say those same words when we would meet and before departure he always ifnI were Alright !!! I will always the God Father RIP my friend Until we meet again Ed Houston
