Edith M. Aspgren's Obituary
Edith M. Aspgren was born November 24, 1924 in Wallis, TX. to Rudolph & Elizabeth Uhyrek Gallia.
She died at her home in St. Helens on June 8, 2006 at the age of 81.
She attended Warren Grade School and Scappoose Hi School on May 19, 1943, and attended Northwestern College of Commerce.
Married to Kenneth Aspgren on October 14, 1950 in Longview, WA., he preceded her in death in 1991.
She was the Civil Office Supervisor for the Columbia Co. Shriffs Dept. for 21 years, retiring in 1986.
She was a member of St. Frederic Catholic Church and the women society; St. Helens Business & Professional Women's Club, St. Helens Garden Club, Zenith Club, St. Helens and Scappoose Senior Centers and the Warren Grange.
Her hobbies included camping, crabbing, clamming, fishing, gardening, sewing and she was a Blazer & Mariners fan. She volunteered her time to help others. She enjoyed traveling to Texas, Alaska and the Czech Republic to visit family.
Survivors include: Son; Jon Aspgren of Eagle River, Alaska; Daughters: Annette Jensen of St. Helens; Connie Bovee of Woodland, WA.; Twin Sister: Josie Burdick of Oregon City, OR.; Mary Lawrence of St. Helens, OR.; 7 grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, parents, Daughter; Yvonne Cook; Sister: Claire Cortz, Brother: Clarence Gallia.
Viewing & Visitation: 9-6 Tuesday
Recitation of the Rosary: 7:00 PM Tuesday-both at Columbia Funeral Home
Mass of Christian Burial: Wednesday, June 14, 2006 at 10:00 AM at St. Frederic Catholic Church-St. Helens, OR.
Committal service & vault interment: Columbia Memorial Gardens Cemetery-Scappoose, OR.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Disease Association; American Heart Association; Local Senior Centers and Providence Hospice.
