Edmund Prestin Phillips' Obituary
Edmund Prestin Phillips passed away peacefully in his home November 22, 2018 in Warren Oregon.
Edmund was born February 25, 1940 to Ernest Prestin Phillips and Bertha Elizabeth Maddox in Bend, Oregon. He graduated in Portland, Oregon in 1959, and immediately joined the Navy which he would retire from 20 years later, receiving several rewards and medals.
After retiring from the Navy Edmund and his wife Barbara settled in Alabama with their family. He later divorced and moved back to Portland Oregon, and soon after moved to Warren, Oregon to live with his sister Bessie and her husband.
Ed was a part of the Baptist church and was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to hunt but his biggest passion was fishing, clamming, and crabbing. He enjoyed going to the casino and gambling, even after going completely blind.
Ed is survived by his sister Bessie Smith (Warren, OR), son Eddie Phillips (Wyoming), daughter Joyce Ann Billadeau and two grandchildren (Mobil, Alabama), and several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Edmund was the middle child of 5, all preceding him in death except for youngest sister Bessie.
Ed loved people and life itself. He will truly be missed.
