Obituary of Edna May Kennedy
A Celebration of life service will be held, 1pm, Monday, April 16th at the 1st United Methodist Church for Edna May Kennedy. Edna passed away in Portland on Monday, April 9th; she was 83 years of age.
Edna was born April 6, 1929 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to John William & Ethel Fay Tinnel Donaldson the third of five daughters. The family moved to Mariposa, California where she attended high school. She moved to Scappoose in 1982 and married Jesse Ralph Kennedy on August 24, 1984 in Longview, Washington. Edna was a Moose member for over 34 years, loved old cars and was a founding member of the "On The Road Again" Car Club in the area of Clatsop and Cowlitz county areas that had over 50 plus member from Longview to long Beach; Astoria to Rainier. A snowbird for many years, Edna spent many a winter in Arizona for 16 years. She loved camping, fishing and her beloved children and extended family. Edna worked at the St. Helens café in the early 1980's.
Edna is survived by her daughters; Phyllis Wilson of Scappoose, Roberta Robinson of Fayette, Alabama, Billie Jean Combest of Taylor, Texas, Step-children; Gary, Barbara and Vicky and numerous grand, great and great great grandchildren, and sister Wilma Richardson of Montesano, Washington. She is preceded in death by her husband Jesse in 2007 and her sisters; Genevieve Fournier, Margaret Mitchell, Ethel McCleary.
Committal Services at Columbia Memorial Gardens. Columbia Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
