Edward “Tom” Thomas Pierce
April 6, 1942 - September 11, 2024
Edward Thomas Pierce of Portland, Oregon passed away September 11, 2024, at the age of 82. He was born April 6, 1942, to Robert and Esther (Harms) Pierce in Ontario, Oregon, where he grew up and attended school graduating with the class of 1960. During his childhood his family briefly moved to the Warren area and then back to Ontario.
Tom joined the Airforce and served in the reserves for 6 years before being discharged in 1969. He married Nickola Grossmiller in Pendleton, Oregon on March 15, 1969. In the 80s the family moved back to the Portland area where they settled. Through the years Tom worked for the railroad and in construction for various companies; Sierra Pacific, Shun Construction, Alliance Corporation, Grossmiller construction and JW Fowler where he worked most recently retiring in 2015 after 17 years with them.
Tom was also a member of the Elks Lodge in Pendleton and Portland, and he enjoyed deer and elk hunting. But his true passion was fishing, he loved to fish.
He is survived by his wife Nicki and their daughter Tyson, a granddaughter Lola and a brother Ray, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins and his beloved dog, Babe. He was preceded in death by his siblings Bob and Vaughn.
A celebration of life will be held October 26, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the St. Helens Elks Lodge.
